About Our Support & Sponsorship

HUMANO was developed through the prestigious AFI DWW+ (Directing Workshop for Women Plus) program, an initiative that champions traditionally underrepresented filmmakers. The 2025–26 cohort supports visionary directors through every stage of the short film production process, with instruction from top industry professionals. Since 1974, DWW+ has trained over 350 groundbreaking filmmakers and remains one of the longest-running and most impactful gender equity programs in the cinematic arts.

We are proud to share that HUMANO is financially sponsored by the Alliance of Women Directors (AWD), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uplifts diverse voices and advocates for gender parity in the entertainment industry. Through this fiscal sponsorship, all donations to HUMANO—monetary or in-kind—may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
